👋 My name is Olivier DAUGA.
🛠️ I am what you call a "curious about everything", a passionate inventor who constantly dreams of facilitating, simplifying, and improving daily life for everyone, and especially a lover of music.
🚀 I started my career in 1992 as a multiservice craftsman specialized in home comfort.
🧑🔧 Installing products invented and manufactured by others? That was not enough for me...
💡 I always saw how to improve, but I never had the opportunity to do it.
🌀 An idea that comes from far away…
🚀 In 2014, I started a new career far from sound. My job? Providing thermal comfort in buildings, through the ceiling: radiant ceiling, insulation, air conditioning. A confidential specialty... but incredibly effective.
💨 It was while working on the cooling of air-conditioned ceilings that I implemented the Coanda effect.
🌬️ When air glides along a ceiling, without falling on people…
🌡️ Or in my innovation, when the air remains "attached" to the reflective insulation placed a few centimeters above the ceiling, to homogenize temperatures.
🍃 A gentle diffusion, like a suspended breath above us. Invisible. Silent. Already there... I was touching on the idea of comfort that follows you everywhere, without forgotten zones.
⚡ A Stormy Evening... the Trigger
🌩️ Then there was that evening. Standing on top of a hill. The sea below. The sky rumbling. A powerful storm. Lightning everywhere. Thunder, right above my head.
🔊 That sound... it went through me. It made me vibrate. It came from everywhere. It surrounded me.
💡 And then, a question struck me: how to reproduce this immersive sensation?
🎵 When the Ceiling Becomes an Obvious Choice
🎶 I thought back to my profession. The birdsong, the rain, the thunder... All these sounds come from above.
🌀 Why not do the same with sound?
🎧 What if we could unleash the sound?
In our Ceilingo showroom, I wanted to go further. I created a cinema room, a true full-scale sound laboratory.
I tested vibrating plaster panels, then a large panel suspended from the ceiling. On paper, it was promising…
But in reality, something was missing. The sound remained restrained, fixed, stuck on surfaces too rigid.
The result: flat waves, without relief, without that living immersion I was seeking.
So I went even further. I designed the first sound mirror, mounted on silent blocks. A crazy idea, but incredibly exciting.
The glass vibrated… It was good, but still not enough.
I wanted more. I wanted that thrill, that sensation of being carried by the sound, wherever you are in the room.
That's when everything changed…
📞 The Call That Changed Everything
☎️ One day, an installer calls me. A client, the owner of a nightclub in Paris, is looking for a solution.
He wants a homogeneous sound that respects the neighborhood. Not a classic solution. Something different. Something better.
⏳ I gave myself 15 days. 15 days to find it. 15 days to understand it.
💡 How to unleash the sound?
💡 How to amplify it without constraint?
🎻 The Inspiration of Acoustic Instruments
💡 That's where I had the intuition: acoustic instruments.
🎹 The piano. 🎸 The guitar. 🎻 The violin.
All use a wooden soundboard, this vibrant surface that amplifies the strings and brings sound to life.
🌳 It will necessarily rely on a kind of soundboard, a vibrating wooden plate to offer a warm, lively, and naturally amplified sound.
🛠️ That's when I imagined a different sound system.
🌳 A speaker that would make a wooden blade vibrate, free from any mechanical constraints, mounted on rubber shock absorbers.
🌀 A blade capable of vibrating like a whipto naturally amplify the sound, distribute it 360°, fill the space, without constraints.
🎉 A result beyond my expectations
🔊 The sound became alive, warm, immersive.
🌀 It was capable of filling a room, even bypassing obstacles.
🧘 It respected hearing and limited disturbances.
🚫 And, incredibly, it naturally eliminated feedback.
